Love’s Presentation
Love’s Presentation is the first of a series of artists films made by Director James Scott and Cinematographer Adam Barker-Mill, capturing the creation of David Hockney’s famous Cavafy Etchings of 1967 and narrated by the artist himself. This film gives a rare and witty insight into the work of one of the world’s most celebrated contemporary artists.
Richard Hamilton
Richard Hamilton, a documentary made in collaboration with the artist, was made under commission from the art council in 1968 by Scott and Barker-Mill. One of the forerunners of the Pop Art Movement, Hamilton worked with the layering and disruption of images of popular culture, and this is present in the patchwork like cinematography of this film. With commentary from Richard Hamilton.
Each screening will be followed by a talk from cinematographer Adam Barker-Mill.
