A Day of Action: Anti Racism and the Archive

A day of talks and discussion exploring anti racist actions past, present and future.

The event has been organised by artist Holly Graham and funded by the Black Culture Collective, and the London Borough of Greenwich.

On a Day of Action, Holly Graham will be presenting her research to date and bringing together a number of voices engaged in facilitating and documenting community-led anti-racist and activist work, to think through ways of telling stories of what has come before, and understanding this activity for the present and future.

Speakers including Activist Dev Barrah, Giles Gabon, Director of the Greenwich Inclusion Project), Councillor Ann-Marie Cousins,  Hannah Ishmael, Archivist at the Black Cultural Archives, Historian and Researcher Aleema Gray, and Lukasz Risso, Archivist at the May Day Rooms. The last session of the day is a free open space for discussing many of the themes explored by our speakers and for mapping out what needs to be done. Full details about the Day of Action can be found here

Throughout the day, there will be space to feed into the archive and the development of Holly’s Action Project through donating material, contributing to our reading list, and sharing short oral histories. If you have anything you’d like to donate, e.g. photos from community meetings or flyers advertising marches, do bring these along to be scanned.

Book here.
