Open Call: Six month studio residency

TACO! and Bow Arts are seeking a socially engaged practitioner to co-author a publication with early years children.

Applications are invited from artist practitioners, or collaborative groups, with experience of socially engaged practice and publishing to undertake a 6 month R&D residency in Thamesmead and Abbey Wood, SE London. The residency will be supported with a studio space at the Lakeside Centre, Thamesmead, an artist fee, and workshop budget. The selected artist(s) would be expected to engage with local early years children (2-5yrs) and their families to develop a co-produced publication that documents the lived experience of the children and their families.

Working in partnership with Better Children’s Centres Abbey Wood and Thamesmead, the project will be an opportunity for the artist and hard to reach local families to co-author a publication. Local schools, and a YMCA nursery based at the Lakeside Centre will also contribute to shaping of the project.

DEADLINE: 9TH MAY, 5PM
